The Camel and The Jackal
Once upon a time a camel and jackal lived together. They were very good friends. One day the jackal told the camel that he had heard that there were many vast fields of melons on other side of the river. He asked the camel to accompany him across the river. The camel agreed to it willingly.
The next morning both of them got up early and the camel carried the jackal across the river and they carried on their journey till they saw the fields. They both were happy to see and started eating melons to their fill. When they were coming out of the field and the jackal began to howl.
The camel was surprised by this act so he asked the reason to which the jackal told him that he had habit to growl after he eats.
Hearing the noise, the farmer rushed out on the field with a stick. The jackal escaped into the bushes and the farmer beat the camel and shoed him away.
When the camel reached the bank of the river, the jackal appeared from behind the bushes. He
let the jackal ride his back. When they reached the middle of the river he sat down. The jackal started to drown; he cried to the camel that he was drowning and that he should get up.
The camel then answered that he had a habit of sitting in between the river after having melons. The naughty jackal then realized that he had hurt his friend and begged for mercy and forgiveness. The camel then stood up and walked passed the river. They both reached the bank safely.
