The COAS along with all services chief was around President Zardari when Navy chief Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila was decorated Friday with Nishan-i-Imtiaz (military) for his meritorious services.
Nishan-i-Imtiaz is one of the highest national honors in

I saw a grisly facet of Pakistan recently on a dark chilly evening, a facet that remains hidden from the chattering urban classes thanks to a media that is ever preoccupied with the more delectable and scandalous fracas that goes on unendingly among the political and state grandees.
I had visited, along with friends and volunteers, some not-so-remote villages of district Badin, distributing blankets and warm clothes to the flood-struck people. Balochistan — point of no return?
Malik Siraj Akbar
Sardar Ataullah Mengal, Balochistan’s first chief minister, recently said after a meeting with PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif that the situation in Balochistan had reached a “point of no return”, adding that he had “no control” over the disillusioned Baloch youths who had taken to the hills to wage a war of liberation. The Baloch are angry with Nawaz Sharif, Imran Khan and the Jamaat-e-Islami. The above three, they complain, organise marches against US foreign policy or in support of Palestine but they do not stage similar

Pakistan’s non-cooperation can fail disarmament moot: Moon
Uited Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon warned Tuesday that the UN Conference on Disarmament could fail because of a three-year stalemate over Pakistan s reluctance to discuss nuclear power.
"Today, this distinguished body is no longer living up to expectations," Ban said at the first of three public sessions scheduled this year, in a speech read out by the top UN official in Geneva, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
